Philly is known as the birthplace of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, blending four centuries of history and architecture, beautiful neighborhoods, and vibrant culture.

Cycling in Philadelphia is a great way to explore the city’s scenic trails and parks, while also serving as an environmentally-friendly way to go from one neighborhood to another. All that thanks to an ever-increasing number of protected bike lanes and social cycling events, such as the Philly Bike Ride, which closes 20 miles of streets for a memorable people-powered group ride.

So grab your Indego bike and let’s get exploring!

1. Penn’s Landing

A great starting point, as you pedal past an epic view of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, head on through Penn’s Landing, a favorite for parks and eateries along the Delaware River.

2. Liberty Bell / Independence Hall

Keep pedaling and you’ll find yourself at some of Philly’s (and the nation’s) most historic sites –  the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. The Liberty Bell is still one of the most representative symbols to freedom-seekers, and Independence Hall is widely famous for being the setting for the birthplace of the United States in 1776.

3. City Hall

Bike on over to the astonishing architecture of City Hall, including 250 sculptures and a 37-foot tall statue of William Penn atop the clock tower. This home to Philly’s city government is still the largest municipal building in the country.

4. Kelly Drive

A beautiful ride with views of the Schuylkill River, Kelly Drive offers easy access to neighborhoods in Philly like East Falls and Manayunk. Don’t miss Boathouse Row and Fairmount Park on the way out!

5. Philadelphia Museum of Art

Who could forget the iconic Philadelphia Museum of Art, home to art from around the world? And out front, those iconic steps that are well-known from the Rocky film franchise. Don’t miss snapping your photo with the Rocky Statue!
