Dia de Los Muertos Group Ride with the Mexican Cultural Center

November 2 @ 9:45 am - 10:30 am

Join the Mexican Culture Center and the Better Bike Share partnership on a FREE ride and activity to celebrate the Day of the Dead!  We encourage you to come dressed in your Catrina or Calavera attire. This ride will be a leisurely pace 3.6-mile loop ride, with a stop at 9th St. and Washington Ave. to visit the spectacular altar installation. Riders will meet at 10:00 am at the Indego station at 1001 Washington Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19147 (next to CVS) to decorate bicycles with Day of the Dead accessories. Limited Indego Bicycles are available; you must register to reserve a bike. Every ride is led by a trained staff member of the Bicycle Coalition, and all participants are expected to follow the Rules of the Road.

      -This ride will be beginner-friendly and at a leisurely pace

      -Helmets will be provided for Indego riders

      -Must be 16 to ride an Indego E-Bike

We will be riding with motor vehicles and water, snacks, and swag will be provided

*Height Restrictions: The bikes we use for the class are recommended for 5’2″ and up. Please let us know if you’d like to come out with your bike.

Sign-up is required and spaces are limited.

Please let ride leaders know about any medical conditions.

Indego riders should plan to stay with the group for the entire ride.

¡Únase al Centro de Cultura Mexicana y la asociación Better Bike Share en un paseo y una actividad GRATIS para celebrar el Día de Muertos! Te animamos a venir vestido con tu atuendo de Catrina o Calavera. Este paseo será un recorrido de 3.6 millas a un ritmo pausado, con una parada a mitad de camino en  9th St. and Washington Ave. y una visita a la espectacular instalación del altar. Los ciclistas se reunirán a las 10:00 am en la estación Indego en 1001 Washington Ave., Filadelfia, PA 19147 (junto a CVS) para decorar las bicicletas con accesorios del Día de los Muertos. Hay bicicletas Indego limitadas disponibles; debes registrarte para reservar una bicicleta. Cada viaje está dirigido por un miembro del personal capacitado de la Coalición de bicicletas, y se espera que todos los participantes sigan las Reglas de la carretera.

     -Este viaje será apto para principiantes y a un ritmo pausado.

     -Se proporcionarán cascos a los ciclistas de Indego.

      -Debe tener 16 años para andar en una E-bicicleta Indego

Informe a los líderes de atracción sobre cualquier condición médica. Los ciclistas de Indego deben planear quedarse con el grupo durante todo el viaje.

    Riders must be at least 16 years old to check out an Indego electric bike. Minors (under 18) need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 18 years old during the ride. Indego is pleased to be of service to you at this event by loaning you an Indego bike share bicycle for demonstration or use during this event. Please review the following procedures & ensure your understanding before you ride the Indego bicycle we have issued to you. I understand that this bicycle is a vehicle and is subject to all vehicular laws which I agree to abide by. I assume all risks and hazards involved with cycling and assume all personal liability in case of injury. I have read and agree to the Indego User Agreement . I have been properly instructed in, and fully understand the use of the quick release mechanisms, brakes, gears, suspension, and all foot retention devices on this bicycle. In consideration of the services provided to me by Indego or the product loaned to me by Indego, in the event of an occurrence, accident, or loss while operating my bicycle or the Indego bike share bicycle, I hereby agree to release and hold harmless Indego, Bicycle Transit Systems, Independence Blue Cross, the City of Philadelphia, the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, and all employees of each respective entity, from any and all claims and causes of action, liabilities, costs or losses for property damage or physical or mental injuries, relating to or in any manner connected with the equipment loaned to me by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. I also agree that this release binds my spouse, heirs, legal representatives, and assigns. I acknowledge that this Indego bicycle has been loaned to me in sound mechanical condition, and will be returned in the same condition, at or before the end of the event. I grant to Indego, the right to take photographs and/or video of me in connection with the above-identified event. I authorize INDEGO, its assigns and transferees to copyright, use and publish the same in print and/or electronically. I agree that INDEGO may use such photographs and/or video of me with or without my name and for any lawful purpose, including for example such purposes as publicity, illustration, advertising, and web content. I HAVE READ THE ABOVE STATEMENTS AND I UNDERSTAND THAT BY CHECKING THIS BOX I AGREE TO ALL OF THESE CONDITONS. For minors: please note and have a parent/legal guardian sign for them instead!
