Cycle September is back! This month-long challenge is one of the Love to Ride Challenges and is brought to you locally by The Clean Air Council. Individuals and their workplaces compete worldwide to raise the profile of cycling and help get more people on bikes. All you have to do is sign up and log your bike rides for the chance to win prizes! We sat down with previous Love to Ride prize winner, Lauren, to learn more about how she climbed her way to the top.
On August 3rd, the Indego Community Ambassadors came together for an early morning group ride to the 4th annual Philly Free Streets celebration. The Ambassadors promoted the group ride in their communities during the weeks leading up to Philly Free Streets in the hopes of connecting people to this amazing event!

Each month, The Better Bike Share Partnership (BBSP) hosts a themed group ride that is intended to familiarize Philadelphians with Indego and introduce folks to different resources all over the city. Last month, riders were invited to join us at the Smith Memorial Arch in Fairmount Park for a picnic and live entertainment!

This season the Better Bike Share Partnership created the Indego Champions Program. June is recognized nationally as Pride Month and is a time to make the LGBTQ+ voices in our community heard, respected, and to recognize the impact LGBT+ people have had in the world. This Pride Month, Indego released a new, specially wrapped bike called the Philly Pride Bike, which made its debut at the Pride Parade in Philadelphia on June 9th.
We sat down with Alison Cohen, CEO of Bicycle Transit Systems, and Amber Hikes, the Executive Director of Philadelphia’s Office of LGBT Affairs to discuss the importance of visibility and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community in the bike share industry and in Philadelphia.

At the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, we are proud to hold Urban Riding Basics classes throughout the year in order to further our mission of making biking fun and safe for everyone. Our mantra for these classes is “ride nice” and our staff does a great job delivering all the information you need to feel safe while taking on the city streets. The BCGP team is excited to share a recap of our Urban Riding Basics class held last month at The Free Library of South Philadelphia.
